Politics hampers reform to health system

SAINT JOHN – New Brunswick is well-positioned to be a leader in changing the way health care is delivered in Canada but before that
can happen, the political culture that blocks reform has to change, says the president of the Canadian Medical Association.
« We have a system problem here, » says Dr. Brian Day. « Politicians are afraid of change and we have a four-year electoral cycle.
