The new president of the Canadian Medical Association is pointing to poverty and poor housing as health risks. We’ll hear Dr. Anna Reid’s ideas on how to improve healthcare.

Dr. Anna Reid: Canadian Medical Association

The Canadian Medical Association is almost as old as Canada and has played a key role in defining one of most important — and frequently exhausting — national conversations.

Last month, Doctor Anna Reid was chosen as the CMA’s new President. She comes to the job with a wide variety of experience … in emergency rooms in the far north, medical clinics in the Himalayas and as a family doctor in rural BC.

Doctor Reid comes to the post at a time when doctors and health policy makers are trying to figure out how to do more with less and she has serious concerns about the direction her profession is taking.

Anna Reid was in Ottawa.
